SpeedZone Weed Killer is a professional-style liquid herbicide that helps control tough broadleaf weeds in established lawns. It is designed for post-emergent weed control, which means it works on weeds that are already growing in your lawn.

Use SpeedZone to target common lawn weeds like dandelion, clover, chickweed, plantain, spurge, ground ivy, wild violet, oxalis, dollarweed, henbit, and many more listed broadleaf weeds.

Why SpeedZone

  • Fast visible results — weed injury can often be seen within hours
  • Kills tough broadleaf weeds — controls 90+ listed weed species
  • Professional-strength formula — contains four active ingredients
  • Works in cool weather — great for spring and fall applications
  • Rainfast in as little as 3 hours
  • Can be used as a spot spray or full-lawn treatment

Best Uses

SpeedZone is best used when weeds are young, actively growing, and the lawn has good soil moisture. Spring and fall are usually the best times to apply. Summer spot treatments can also be used when weeds are present.

SpeedZone may be used on many established cool-season and warm-season lawns when applied according to the product label.

Lawn types listed on the label include:

  • Tall fescue
  • Kentucky bluegrass
  • Perennial ryegrass
  • Fine fescue

  • Hybrid Bermuda grass
  • Zoysia grass
  • Buffalograss

Do Not Use On

Do not apply SpeedZone to St. Augustine grass, centipedegrass, bahiagrass, carpetgrass, dichondra, desirable clover, gardens, flowers, shrubs, trees, or ornamental landscape beds.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked?

What weeds does SpeedZone Weed Killer control?

SpeedZone controls a wide range of broadleaf weeds commonly found in lawns, including dandelion, clover, chickweed, henbit, plantain, spurge, oxalis, dollarweed, and many other listed weeds. It is a post-emergent weed killer, meaning it works on weeds that are already growing.

How fast does SpeedZone start working?

SpeedZone is known for fast visible results. Weed injury can often be seen within hours after application, with full weed control typically taking 7 to 14 days depending on the weed, weather, and growing conditions.

Is SpeedZone safe for my lawn?

SpeedZone can be used on many established cool-season and warm-season lawns when applied according to the label. Always confirm your specific grass type before applying, especially if your lawn is stressed, newly seeded, or recently treated.

When is the best time to apply SpeedZone?

The best time to apply SpeedZone is when weeds are actively growing and temperatures are mild. Spring and fall are usually ideal times because weeds are easier to control and lawns are under less heat stress.

Can I use SpeedZone in the summer?

SpeedZone should not be applied during extreme heat, drought stress, or when the lawn is under stress. For best results and turf safety, apply during cooler parts of the day and follow the label temperature guidelines.

How long does SpeedZone need before rain?

SpeedZone is rainfast in about 3 hours. For best results, apply when rain or irrigation is not expected for at least a few hours.

Should I water SpeedZone in after applying?

No. SpeedZone works through the leaves of actively growing weeds, so it should be allowed to dry on the weed foliage. Do not water immediately after application unless the product label says otherwise.

Should I mow before or after applying SpeedZone?

For best results, avoid mowing 1 to 2 days before and after applying SpeedZone. This gives the weeds enough leaf surface to absorb the herbicide and allows the product time to move through the plant.

Can I seed after applying SpeedZone?

Do not seed immediately after applying SpeedZone. Follow the label’s reseeding interval before planting new grass seed so the new grass can establish properly.

Does SpeedZone prevent new weeds from growing?
