Are you starting to see brown circles or brown patches in your lawn?  Various lawn diseases can quickly turn a lush lawn into a disaster if not treated quickly.

Headway G is a broad spectrum granular professional fungicide that controls a wide variety of lawn diseases.  We highly recommend Headway G vs other fungicides because of it wide spectrum picking up most diseases and that it provides more days of protection.  It is also safe for people and pets if used as directed according to the label.

What makes Headway G popular is that it contains two modes of action.   Azoxystrobin and propiconazole are the two active ingredients, when combined together, you have a much broader and extended line of protection for your lawn.

Diseases Controlled:

  • Brown Patch
  • Gray Leaf Spot
  • Large Patch
  • Dollar Spot
  • Fairy Ring
  • Spring Dead Spot
  • Pythium Blight - preventative
  • and others (see label)

Headway G should be applied with a broadcast spreader and watered in directly after application to activate protection.  Expect up to 28 days of protection.   Depending on disease pressure, we recommend multiple applications to prolong protection.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked?

How long does it take to work?

Headway activates immediately after rainfall or after it is watered in.

How long will it last?

Headway G can provide broad-spectrum disease control for up to 28 days, depending on disease pressure, weather, turf type, and application rate. During hot, humid weather or active disease pressure, repeat applications may be needed according to the label.

What is the best time to apply?

Make your first application before disease pressure is high. Warm humid nights will cause disease. Apply every 28 days until disease pressure subsides. Typically 3-4 applications.

Is Headway G good for brown patch?

Yes. Headway G is commonly used for brown patch, one of the most common summer lawn diseases in tall fescue, ryegrass, and other cool-season lawns. It works best when applied preventatively or at the first sign of disease.

Is Headway G safe for pets and kids?

Headway G can be used on residential lawns when applied according to the label. Keep children, pets, and unprotected people out of the treatment area during application and until the treated area is dry.

What lawn types can Headway G be used on?

Headway G is labeled for use on turf areas including residential lawns, commercial turf, parks, athletic fields, golf courses, and landscape areas. It can be used on many common warm-season and cool-season turfgrasses, but homeowners should always check the label for any turf-specific restrictions before applying.

How often can I apply Headway G?

Application intervals vary by disease, rate, and turf type. The label states not to exceed 19.2 lb of product per 1,000 sq ft per calendar year and not to make more than 4 applications per year. It also lists additional restrictions for certain rates and turf types, including bermudagrass.

Can I mow after applying Headway G?

For best results, avoid mowing immediately before or after applying. This gives the product time to settle and move into the turf canopy. A good homeowner rule is to mow first, apply Headway G afterward, and allow the product to activate before mowing again.

Why choose Headway G instead of a liquid fungicide?

Headway G gives the convenience of a granular application while offering professional-level, broad-spectrum disease control. Syngenta describes it as providing the effectiveness of a spray with the convenience of a granular formulation, and its highly soluble carrier helps the product disperse efficiently without leaving heavy residue.

After eliminating the Burmuda I

"After eliminating the Burmuda I have overseeded the tall fescue the past two falls with KGB. Having lived in southern California for so long the fungus issues were new to me and created problems these past two seasons. Saw some signs and added Headway May 10th to my schedule. Very pleased with the results…."

So far so good, lawn

"So far so good, lawn is doing fabulous. At this time of year (I'm in RI) my lawn will begin a very rapid decline/freefall from lush green to mottled/patchy green/brown, steadily declining throughout the summer. I'm attributing this to fungus, so HeadeayG (applied 2June) is my attempt to rectify! Fingers crossed!"

I have an Earthway 2600 spreader. What settings do I use to apply the Headway G Fungicide (30 lbs.)
You will use a setting of 13-14 for Your Earthway 2600 Ev-N-Spread to apply the product at 4 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft.
+{ have small dead patches in St. Augustine grass that looks like your photo of brown patch. What can I use for treatment?
It could be disease or chinch bugs. However, it’s best to prevent both. Headway g will prevent disease and Aloft will **** any chinch bugs and also keep them away.
I recently bought Headway G fungicide. I had previous put down disease Ex by scotts before my application. That seem to not help. Would you recommend doing another Headway G application after my first Headway G application or wait ? So far I have put down two seperate products. Is three applications too much for yard Thank you.
A few things, what disease are you targeting? Depending on the disease, the label for headway states to apply every 14-28 days. Photos would also help. Please send to support@lawnsynergy.com and we will do our best to help.
