Sedgehammer Plus Weed Control
Product Description
Finally Get Rid of That Bright Green Weed
If you have bright green, faster-growing weed popping up in your lawn, it’s probably nutsedge (also called nutgrass). And most weed killers won’t touch it.
SedgeHammer Plus is designed specifically to kill nutsedge by working its way down to the root—so it doesn’t just come back again.
When to Apply
- Apply to actively growing nutsedge
- Avoid watering 2 days after application
Visible yellowing may begin within 7–14 days. Complete control takes a few weeks.
Granular Option Available
Prefer a spreader application? See Vexis Granular Nutsedge Control.
SedgeHammer Plus provides targeted, professional-level control when standard lawn weed products fail.

Sledgehammer
"Excellent, works great. I am wondering when the mixed solution is usable since it is a one time mix. Otherwise I am happy with the results."

"totally ineffective, waste of time and money"
Works great!
"Works as shown in the description. You think that it is not going to kill the sedge. But after about 5 days you can see the decline. Once mowed it is gone and did not affect the lawn."
Great Product
"Sedgehammer is the only product that worked on our weed issue - the particular type is native to Florida and regular OTC products did not work. Even pulling them did not prevent regrowth. With our newly hardscaped yeard, this is now our go-to"

Q&A
- What’s the shelf life once it’s mixed?
- Don’t know used didn’t store .
- What's the shelf life once it's mixed?
- Once Sedgehammer is mixed with water, it should be used within 24 hours for best effectiveness. After that time, the solution can start to degrade, reducing its herbicidal efficacy. Unmixed, dry Sedgehammer (in its original packaging) has a shelf life of 3'5 years if stored in a cool, dry place.
- What's the shelf life once it's mixed?
- This product should be used the same day once it has been mixed. The product starts to break down once it has been mixed in water. If left in a mixer for more than 24 hours it could loose potency and clog sprayer nozzles. Unopened packages will last for several years.
- Can you use this in a bed of amyryillis bulbs & other bulbs without damaging the bulbs?
- Most likely not. It is made to be used to treat sedges in the lawn.
- Do you ship to Canada?
- I’m sorry but we do not.
