What Makes North Star Different?
Product Description
North Star combines three elite tall fescues with premium Kentucky bluegrass to produce a darker, denser lawn that naturally repairs thin areas. The tall fescues provide exceptional color, durability, and stress tolerance, while 365SS Kentucky bluegrass spreads by rhizomes to help fill in bare spots and improve long-term density.
Whether you're overseeding an existing lawn or starting from bare soil, North Star delivers a thick, dark green lawn built to withstand cold winters, summer stress, and everyday wear.
👉 Zero filler. Zero weed seed. Just premium, tested seed that works.

The North Star I ordered
"The North Star I ordered is for my backyard renovation in September to eliminate the Bermuda in it similar to what I had in the front yard. Two consecutive fall over seedings in the front are starting to see good results and this year I started using Headway and the results have been dramatic."
Don't you think the temperatures
"Don't you think the temperatures are still a bit high? I wasn't going to do anything with my lawn till a little later. Early September I will remove the thatch and aerate then do the grass and fertilizer."

Q&A
- Which seed blend would better for Eastern Nebraska? Envy Tall fescue or North Star Tall Feacue KY Bluegrass blend? My lawn is a newly sodded yard a little over a year old that I believe is mostly, if not all, Tall Fescue. I just aerated and would like to overseed and fill in bare spots caused by dogs.
- North Star would be better for you. It contains 90% Envy Tall Fescue Blend and 10% 365SS Bluegrass Blend. It's a very special blend.
- Is North Star okay to grow in transition zone - 7a? Why do you recommend envy premium tall fescue over the North Star for Washington DC area?
- The summers in your area are little to warm to sustain bluegrass. Bluegrass performs better in cooler climates and will struggle with the summer heat.
- Do you have to treat your lawn for weeds, before you use your grass seed and starter?
- I would not recommend any post emergent **** control when planning to re-seed.
