How to Install (Step-by-Step)
- Prepare the soil: Mow short, remove debris, and loosen the top 0.5–1" of soil. Level low spots.
- Seed: Apply at the rate above. For bare soil, make a second pass at a perpendicular angle.
- Starter fertilizer: Apply a phosphorus-containing starter per soil test or label.
- Topdress: Lightly cover seed with peat moss, clean straw, or a thin compost layer to retain moisture.
- Water: Keep the top 0.5" of soil consistently moist until germination (usually 7–14 days depending on temperature).
- First mow: Mow when seedlings reach ~3–3.5", removing no more than 1/3 of the blade.
- Early care: Reduce watering frequency as roots deepen; avoid heavy traffic until established.

"After years of wishing my lawn was more dense and lush I finally decided to try overseeding. Wanting my efforts to pay off, I decided to purchase your Artimuss Tall Fescue and couldn't be more pleased with the results. As with any project, proper preparation is key to success, and I used an electric scarifier after mowing low to insure seed to soil contact. I rented a Stinger to core aerate and drop the Artimuss seed on 16 September. I also spread your Starter Fertilizer before top-dressing. I top-dressed most of the yard using a compost spreader to apply a thin layer of sphagnum peat moss. However, due to rain, I wasn't able to top-dress one large side yard but, before the weather allowed me to finish, I literally saw small green "hairs" already showing so chose to leave it bare. That was on the "fourth day", amazing. One of the major reasons I chose your Artimuss seed was due to the plant growth stimulator you use and it obviously works wonders. I'm convinced I had a successful germination rate of 90% or more and my lawn has turned thicker and more lush than I imagined it could. In addition to all my neighbor's comments on the transformation, I actually had a neighbor across the street send me a photo they took of my property because they couldn't believe how significant the difference had become between my lawn and that of my next door neighbor. I'm so glad I chose your Artimuss TTF and earnestly recommend it to anyone who want their efforts to reward them with a beautiful lawn."
