Poor Quality, kept clogging spreader
"this was the most frustrating product i’ve ever used on my lawn. I bought 100 pounds of it and it came in four 25-lb bags. Each bag had several fist sized clumps of product as well as smaller ones that would fit through my Lesco 80 lb spreader screen, but then clog up the holes before spreading. I had to stop every 5 to 10 feet for an hour and a half and unplug the holes with a screwdriver in order to just spread it. Undoubtedly this is going to come out very uneven. I have been doing my own lawn care for 6 years and never encountered such difficulty with spreading a granular product. The bags were left in my garage. they were not wet. I was looking forward to using this project again when it got warmer outside and this was going to be my test run. Unfortunately I will look elsewhere."

Good Product, Bad Packaging
"I received this product about 2 weeks ago, and applied last week. . it’s unusually hot right now but my lawn looks great, noticeably darker green. However, upon delivery I noticed some fertilizer granules on my front steps. When I opened the box, there were piles of granules loose. . The bag had opened and estimating 1/4 had spilt. My deck has small stains from where granules fell out of the box, and I lost some product that I paid for. That being said, will order again as the other bag was in fine shape and the product was good, hopefully a fluke with the machine that seals the bags. They need a new box style for two small bag orders."

- I applied lesco starter fertilizer on 9/20/2025 Can I apply this as a winterizer in about 8 weeks or emerald?
- 20-0-10 would be a much better option 4-6 weeks after the seed has germinated. Starter fertilizer will not last long especially with the additional watering. 20-0-10 will keep feeding the new seedlings.
- How long does this product last in the soil until I should do another application?
- 4-6 weeks would be ideal for a reapplication.
- I live in South Mississippi it June almost 95 everyday. I bought 10-0-20 fertilizer should I have bought 0-0-4 because of the heat?
- Both are just fine. 10-0-20 is a fantastic blend since it contains 45% slow-release nitrogen. After application, just make sure it is soaked in good to get all nutrients into the soil. Both contain iron which will darken the color also.
