0-0-48 SOP (Sulfate of Potash) is an essential nutrient supplement designed to enhance the potassium content in your soil. Unlike 0-0-62 MOP (Muriate of Potash), our 0-0-48 SOP offers a slow-release formula that ensures a steady supply of potassium, essential for healthy plant and lawn growth. This product is especially beneficial for correcting potassium deficiencies without the high salt content found in MOP.

Features and Benefits:

  • Slow-Release Formula: Provides a 45 day consistent supply of potassium, reducing the need for frequent applications.
  • Low Salinity: Unlike MOP, 0-0-48 SOP is less salty, making it safer for your plants and soil.
  • Versatile Use: Suitable for a wide range of plants and lawns, ensuring lush and vigorous growth.
  • Potassium-Rich: Contains 48% potassium, a critical nutrient for overall plant health.

Why Potassium is Important: Potassium is vital for various plant functions, including:

  • Improved Water Uptake: Enhances the plant’s ability to absorb water and nutrients.
  • Stress Resistance: Increases resistance to drought, disease, and extreme temperatures.
  • Strong Roots: Promotes stronger root development, which is essential for healthy, resilient plants.
  • Enhanced Photosynthesis: Supports efficient photosynthesis, leading to greener, more vibrant foliage.

Applications:

  • Lawns: Ideal for maintaining a lush, green lawn, especially in areas prone to potassium deficiency.
  • Plants: Beneficial for flowering plants, vegetables, and fruit-bearing trees, ensuring better yield and health.

Application Rate:

  • Dosage: Apply 2-5 pounds per 1,000 square feet.
  • Frequency: Apply 2-3 times per season until potassium levels return to normal.

Usage Instructions:

  1. Measure the area to determine the amount of 0-0-48 SOP required.
  2. Evenly distribute the product over the soil surface.
  3. Water the area thoroughly to activate the slow-release formula.
  4. Reapply as needed, 2-3 times per season until desired potassium level is reached.

Incorporate 0-0-48 SOP into your lawn and garden care routine to ensure your plants receive the potassium they need to thrive. With its superior slow-release formula and low salt content, 0-0-48 SOP is the optimal choice for a healthier, more vibrant landscape.

"Amazing! After doing a soil test, I learned that my lawn had a major potassium deficiency. This was recommended to me, and it's completely turned my lawn around. I couldn't recommend it enough."

Adding potassium to the lawn

"Used a Scott’s hand spreader to spread the potassium over the entire yard. Trying to add the missing nutrients per the lawn analysis we had done. It rained the next couple of days so it is watered in. So far so good."

Q&A

I have high salt 94lb/A, high Mg 978lb/A, Low K 57lb/A, low Phosphorus 163lb/A, low Ca 1958lb/A, with a slightly higher the desirable but desirable pH 6.6. Sulfur 10ppm. Will using this 0-0-48 SOP Sulfate of Potash Fertilizer be helpful or cause more problems with the salt or other things I am trying to balance and correct?
This product will only address the potassium deficiency. This product is less salty that other products and would be safe to use. I would recommend apply the product at the lowest rate over multiple application to avoid osmotic stress.
Is this safe on the grass for children and dogs?
Yes, however its always best to water in first before letting people and pets onto the lawn.
I may have missed it, but what is the sulfur content of the 0-0-48? I've seen various S content on other products but don't recall seeing it on this one. My soil sample came back low in K and S. Hoping this will raise those levels over time. Might it also help lower Mg and Ca over time? Any suggestions would be great. BTW, I just swerved into your site. I'm looking forward to using your products!
0% sulfur This will raise K. If you are looking to increase sulfur, apply gypsum.
Hi There, I was wondering if I can use the 0-0-48 alongside my regular fertilizer program. I plan on putting this down at the recommended rate and 2-3weeks later using my flagship 24-0-6. Have both very low nitrogen and potassium. Hoping to get the best of both. Any insight you can share would be helpful. Located in houston Texas, grass: st augustine, soil: clay Thank you, Collins
Hi Collins, yes that would be fine. 0-0-48 is a slow release product and will help boost potassium levels in the soil. Going forward, you can use a 20-0-10 product or 10-0-20 product. Both will feed nitrogen and potassium to keep levels up.
